Alpenzoo & Hungerburgbahn
A "must" for all visitors to Innsbruck: The ascent to the Hungerburg and a trip to the Alpine Zoo.
The stations of the new Hungerburgbahn funicular railway were designed by the star architect Zaha Hadid.
Within a few minutes the modern funicular will take you over extremely steep terrain up to Innsbruck's sunny terrace. Once there you can enjoy a cappuccino in the bar "Wolke 7", visit the quaint cable car museum or just marvel at the spectacular views over the city.
Stop off on your way up or down for a trip to the Alpine Zoo: Europe's highest zoo
boasts a complete collection of alpine fauna as well as hundreds of wild animals.
The visitor can also experience farm animals used in alpine agriculture.
